Girgaon katta, is an Authentic Maharashtrian Type food Joint which was started in the year January 2007 by Mr. Pradeep Ashok Malankar. This venture was started specially to cater the demand for Authentic Maharashtrian Delicacies (ranging from Authentic Maharshtrian Snacks, Food and Sweets) in western Suburban of Mumbai.

                    Initially this business was started as a small parcel counter with 4 people’s strength and slowly and gradually over the period of time the staff strength has reached up to 50 and the total dining capacity of the restaurant is 100 in (AC and Non- AC). Because of the overwhelming response from its customers, it has been recognized by several News Papers, Food Magazines, Food websites etc...

                      Restaurant was also rewarded as 11th, amongst 11 best restaurants in Mumbai by Leading Maharashtrian News Paper Maharashtra Times in the year 2011.

Several other magazines and Newspapers such as Time Out weekly, DNA, Prahar, MID- Day, Mumbai Mirror, Lok Satta etc... have also considered the efforts of Girgaon Katta for keeping, maintaining and preserving Domestic Maharashtrian food culture.

                     This brand is very much popular amongst Marathi Film Industry, some celebrities like Nitin Desai, Sonali Kulkarni, Kaushal Inamdar, Aadesh Bandekar, Pradeep Patwardhan have also visited restaurant and few more like Avinash Narkar, Asihwarya Narkar, Arun Nalavde, Sharad Ponkshe are the regular customers of Girgaon katta.

                     The promoters have several enquiries about overseas opening also from Dubai, Australia, USA, UK Etc. as they send Diwali Faral to same countries.
